Formal Uniform

Traditionally referred to as the "dress blazer" or "dress blues", this uniform is typically used in more formal settings such as awards ceremonies, weddings, or funerals, or in any setting where a more formal appearance is in order. The format of the formal uniform was updated in 2010 and again in 2017. Currently, either format is considered acceptable.

It should be noted that no awards or insignia are worn on the Formal Uniform.  Awards and insignia are ONLY worn on Dress and Utility uniforms, or on the awards vest. 

The 2017 format of the formal uniform consists of the following components:

  • Navy blue sport coat
  • Metallic gold name tag with black lettering, 3” x 1.5”, with engraved RR emblem
  • White dress shirt or blouse
  • Navy blue necktie or navy ladies scarf
  • Charcoal grey pants or skirt
  • Black dress belt
  • Black dress shoes with black socks.
  • Ladies may wear natural colored hosiery.
